FAQs

For families,
and slow days.

Ella is gentle on children, short walks, friendly streets, easy food. A handful of things to do with little legs, plus answers to the questions we hear most often.

What's a good first day in Ella with kids?
A short walk after breakfast to Nine Arch Bridge (15 min flat), a stop at a tea-time bakery, and an afternoon swim back at the hotel pool. Sunset on the terrace.
Is Little Adam's Peak suitable for children?
For ages six and up, yes, it's a 45-minute walk on a well-made path. Bring water and a hat. Many of our guests take their kids up at sunrise.
Can you arrange transport from Colombo or Galle?
Yes, private driver from Colombo (6.5 hrs, $90), from the airport (5.5 hrs, $85), or from Galle (5 hrs, $80). The scenic train from Kandy is highly recommended.
What's the best time of year to visit Ella?
January through April are the driest, with the clearest mountain views. May–September is greener but with afternoon showers. Cool year-round (16–25°C).
Do you book tours, transport and guides?
Yes we work with the same drivers and guides we've trusted for over a decade. Just ask at check-in and we'll have it sorted by morning coffee.
